A thorough set of  Construction Documents will typically include Design Intent Drawings, Location Plans and Message Schedules (as discussed under our Programming page), and may include more thorough construction detailing and written specifications.  Quite often it proves prudent to strike a balance between thorough and extensive detailing and allowing the flexibilty to accommodate proprietary shop methods that may be used by the various bidders.  SEVCD has over 20 years’ experience in detailing a broad spectrum of construction methods and materials, and from the outset, has benefitted from a sound understanding of engineering theory and principles. Our clients, too, reap the benefits of our hands-on experience in sign shops and manufacturing facilities. Written specifications provide a qualitative (and sometimes quantitative) guideline to fabrication and installation, and our understanding of architectural specification formats has been valuable in controlling construction quality standards. We are often expected to provide our documents- location plans, message schedules, construction details and specifications-  in the architects’ traditionally used formats.
